To support unemployed indigenous youth in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), the administration has unveiled the TIPRA HAM Loan Scheme.
Former Tipra Motha Chairman and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma announced the scheme, detailing that TTAADC will offer subsidies and collaborate with Tripura Grameen Bank to provide loans at minimal interest rates. The TIPRA HAM Loan Scheme is a comprehensive financial initiative designed to empower the Tiprasa community through accessible and affordable loans across various sectors.
“The aim of this scheme is to drive socio-economic development, promote financial inclusion, and improve the overall well-being of the Tiprasa people. The Tipra Ham Auto loan is a key component of this initiative,” stated Pradyot.
The primary goal of the scheme is to enhance mobility and support entrepreneurial ventures by providing auto loans for commercial purposes. This initiative aims to offer a sustainable income to unemployed indigenous youth within TTAADC areas, boost their wage-earning capacity, and contribute to the growth of the local employment economy.
Pradyot accentuated the importance of encouraging entrepreneurship and livelihood. He mentioned the launch of a transparent online portal where applicants can easily apply for loans.
“With significant unemployment in TTAADC, the administration has ensured that those seeking auto loans can access them at lower prices and interest rates, with beneficiaries required to pay around 15% of the total amount,” he explained.
In line with the vision for a Clean and Green Tripura, the scheme includes provisions for E-Auto loans, considering the high cost of fuel. “Charging points will be installed at the homes of loan applicants. This pioneering effort aims to provide opportunities for people to become self-reliant,” Pradyot added.
