Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was immediately taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences or AIIMS following complaining of back pain on Thursday.
AIIMS Delhi issued a statement confirming his admission, stating, “Defence Minister Rajnath Singh was admitted to the old private ward early morning with a complaint of back pain. He is stable and under observation.”
Singh, who celebrated his 73rd birthday on Wednesday, represents Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, in the Parliament. This is his second consecutive term heading the Ministry of Defence, having previously served as Union Home Minister during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first term in 2014.
His political career spans decades, including roles such as Minister of Education and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and various ministerial positions in the Union Cabinet.
