General Upendra Dwivedi, newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, conducted a comprehensive review of security measures during his recent two-day visit to the 3 Corps headquarters in Dimapur, Nagaland. This visit marked his first to the Northeast since assuming office on June 30.
During his visit, General Dwivedi assessed the security situation in Manipur and along the border with Myanmar, visiting all Corps formations under the Eastern Army Command in the region. At the Dimapur headquarters, he reviewed ongoing security operations and received briefings on the current status in Manipur and the Myanmar border areas.
The Army chief also visited the 4 Corps headquarters in Tezpur, where he evaluated operational readiness. His tour continued to the 33 Corps headquarters in Sukna, West Bengal, where he monitored progress on projects in the Sikkim region.
General Dwivedi’s visit underscores the Indian Army’s strategic focus on maintaining robust security measures along sensitive borders, ensuring readiness and operational effectiveness across the Northeastern region.
