The police carried out coordinated raids across Margherita, Jagun, and neighbouring State Arunachal Pradesh, leading to the arrest of three individuals connected to the extortion attempt. The arrested suspects are Ankur Gogoi, Avinash Ghosh, and Lupan Singpho.
According to police sources, Lupan Singpho, a youth from Arunachal Pradesh, had been authorised by the NSCN to extort funds. During interrogation, Singpho reportedly confessed to her involvement in the extortion scheme.
