Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma convened a pivotal meeting with Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M Scindia, at his office recently. The discussions centred on strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening infrastructure and development across the State.
Key agenda items included plans to enhance digital infrastructure throughout Assam, with a particular emphasis on expanding access to 4G/5G and high-speed internet services. Additionally, the leaders explored strategies to cultivate a skilled workforce capable of supporting telecom infrastructure growth in the region.
In addressing the challenges posed by natural calamities, especially floods, Himanta Sarma and Scindia highlighted the importance of deploying advanced technologies to swiftly restore communication networks in affected areas. They also stressed the need for streamlined coordination with the North Eastern Council (NEC) and accelerated implementation of DoNER-sanctioned developmental projects.
