Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrated a significant milestone during the distribution of appointment letters in the Education department, highlighting the BJP government’s achievement in securing employment for 97,454 individuals since taking office.
“In our tenure, 97,454 individuals have secured government jobs,” Himanta Sarma announced proudly, highlighting the government’s commitment to merit-based hiring to root out corruption.
“Previously, government jobs were often obtained through bribery. Now, our focus on merit ensures transparency and equal opportunity,” he added.
Himanta Sarma underlined the impact on Assam’s youth and their families, noting an enhanced emphasis on education and career aspirations among students aiming for government positions. “The increase in government jobs has not only boosted employment but also fostered a shift towards education-focused ambitions,” he observed.
Highlighting the broader impact on the education sector, the CM stressed its role in societal development, including cultural and extracurricular activities benefiting students. “Recruiting teachers and professors elevates educational standards and enriches student life through activities like NCC, promoting holistic development,” he explained.
Moreover, CM Himanta reiterated the State’s commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship among students, particularly in engineering colleges. “Encouraging startups like Ola, Uber, and Zomato among students is crucial for economic growth,” he emphasized, highlighting the potential for innovation and job creation.
He congratulated the newly appointed recruits and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to expanding employment opportunities. “Our goal is to provide jobs to 150,000 youths in Assam, ensuring a brighter future for our State,” he concluded.
