Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram commenced a three-day visit to Assam on Monday. The purpose of the visit is to review numerous Central Government schemes.
Upon his arrival at Dibrugarh airport, Assam Minister Ranoj Pegu welcomed Oram, who then travelled to Sivsagar.
Oram shared his excitement on X, stating, “Arrived in Dibrugarh, greeted by dedicated karyakartas. Embarking on a journey through Northeast’s wonders, their warm welcome sets the tone for an unforgettable stay. Ready to explore, discover and embrace the beauty of this land.”
During his visit, Oram inaugurated the Ahom Pathar Water Supply Scheme under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Demow, located in the Sivsagar district.

Besides, the Union Minister visited the Shiva temple known as Sivadol in Sivsagar town and paid floral tributes to the prominent tribal leader Bhimbar Deori. He also planted a sapling in Ahom Pathar “as part of our commitment to environmental protection and sustainable living”.

Apart from this, Oram visited some tribal villlages like Bhekuri, Chapori, Lason Gaon, Bam Rajabari and Tea Garden Labour Lines and interacted on various problems with local residents.

Assam Tribal Affairs Minister Ranoj Pegu mentioned on X that Oram chaired a meeting with the district administration and other departmental officers in Sivsagar.
“The meeting reviewed various Central Government schemes implemented in the district as well as other overall works of the district,” Pegu stated.
Furthermore, Pegu noted that Oram inspected the Tengapani to Disangmukh dyke, where a Rs 9 crore scheme is currently underway.
“The raising and strengthening of the dyke in Sivasagar district, along with erosion protection measures, will ensure flood protection for several gram panchayats,” he added.
