Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has raised concerns over widespread sand smuggling in Jharkhand, without specifying those involved. He stated, “Sand smuggling is going on across Jharkhand. I did not say who is doing it, but sand smuggling is going on across the State.”
Expressing confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s prospects in the upcoming Jharkhand elections, Himanta Sarma remarked, “I have always believed since the Lok Sabha elections that the formation of a BJP Government in Jharkhand is certain…Elections will be held and a BJP CM will take oath in Jharkhand.”
His remarks highlights political tensions and ongoing issues in Jharkhand, pointing towards alleged illegal activities and the forthcoming electoral contest. His comments come amidst the BJP’s campaign to secure governance in the State, advocating for what he terms the BJP’s “double-engine government.”
“We need to change the present government and bring in BJP’s double-engine government. We will definitely win,” affirmed the Assam CM.
