Synod College in Meghalaya capital Shillong recently hosted an intercollege discourse titled Viksit Bharat@2047, bringing together 20 students from various colleges across the State. Organised by the college’s Education department’s Post Graduate Section, the one-day event aimed to engage young minds in shaping Bharat’s development path leading up to its 100th year of independence.
East Khasi Hills District Additional District Commissioner R Wahlang served as the keynote speaker and chief guest. Lumdiengjri SBI Branch Manager A Ranjan was also in attendance as a special guest.
Part of the larger Viksit Bharat @2047: Voice of Youth initiative, the discourse offered students a platform to present their visions for a developed Bharat. At least, 18 speakers from ten colleges shared their insights on the country’s future, shedding light on the vital role of youth in achieving these goals.
Participants showcased their research and critical thinking skills through various presentations, covering multiple aspects of Bharat’s potential development. The event created an educational and engaging atmosphere, blending student perspectives with insights from the invited guests.
The discourse highlighted the significance of youth involvement and the role of educational institutions in realising the Viksit Bharat @2047 vision. To encourage their participation, students were felicitated at the conclusion of the event.
