In a collaborative effort to curb illegal activities, the Border Security Force, along with the Forest Department and PS Jatrapur, dismantled a significant cannabis nursery. The operation took place on July 16, 2024, targeting the residence of Babul Mazumdar, an Indian national living in Nirbhaypur village under PS Jatrapur, Tripura.
Acting on specific intelligence, authorities swiftly moved to address reports of cannabis cultivation at Mazumdar’s premises. The joint operation team successfully uprooted over 15,000 Ganja saplings discovered behind Mazumdar’s house. Legal measures are now underway, with the Forest Department and PS Jatrapur taking action against the involved landowners.
Emphasising its commitment, the BSF highlighted ongoing efforts to combat illicit cannabis cultivation in Tripura’s border regions. This operation reflects continuous efforts to uphold law and order and protect the community from the harmful impacts of illegal drug production.
