The Haryana Government has introduced significant measures including a 10 per cent job quota and a ₹60,000 annual subsidy for Agniveers employed in various key roles.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that Agniveers will receive a 10 per cent horizontal reservation in direct recruitment for positions such as constable, mining guard, forest guard, jail warden, and special police officer.
Addressing concerns over the Agnipath scheme, CM Saini asserted these initiatives aim to alleviate uncertainties among Agniveers, highlighting Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s implementation of the Agnipath scheme on June 14, 2022.
Key benefits announced include:
10 per cent Quota: Horizontal reservation in direct recruitment to specified government posts.
Subsidy: ₹60,000 per annum subsidy for industrial units paying Agniveers a salary of ₹30,000 per month.
Age Relaxation: 3 years in maximum age for Group B and C government posts, extended to 5 years for the first batch of Agniveers.
Additional Reservations: 5 per cent in Group C and 1per cent in Group B civil posts.
These measures are part of Haryana’s efforts to support and integrate Agniveers into the State workforce amidst ongoing discussions surrounding the Agnipath initiative.
