Chief Coordinator Ganesh K Rai led a delegation from Sikkim’s Citizen Action Party (CAP) and convened with Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP) president Lurinjyoti Gogoi in Guwahati. The meeting sought to enhance collaboration among regional parties within the Northeast.
As part of their Northeast outreach initiative, the CAP aims to build stronger alliances with regional counterparts across the region.
In a joint statement, both the CAP and AJP accentuated their dedication to the welfare and progress of their regions.
The statement noted, “We acknowledge the necessity of a unified approach to tackle the distinctive challenges of the Northeast. By collaborating, we strive to amplify our collective voice and ensure the effective representation of our people’s concerns and aspirations at both State and national levels.”
The two parties committed to safeguarding indigenous rights, focusing on the preservation and enhancement of cultural, social, and economic rights for communities in Sikkim and Assam.
Additionally, they expressed their intention to explore opportunities for political collaboration, including joint projects and synchronized campaigns to bolster their impact and efficacy.
“We are devoted to advancing development policies that are sustainable, environmentally friendly, and advantageous to local communities. We will aim to uplift our people through focused policies and programs tailored to their specific needs and challenges,” the parties conveyed.
They also pledged to celebrate and protect the rich cultural heritage of both regions, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
The discussions covered a range of issues impacting the Northeast and sought to strengthen regional cooperation and development, marking a significant step towards enhanced regional collaboration.
