In a remarkable gesture, Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has facilitated the delivery of Queen Pineapples to Kerala, where they were used for the elephants at Vadakkumnatha Kshethram Temple as part of the aanayootu ceremony – a traditional feeding ritual for elephants. Union Tourism & Petroleum State Minister Suresh Gopi has expressed his deep gratitude for this timely contribution.
On X, Minister Gopi shared his appreciation, “A big thank you to PM Narendra Modi and Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha for this sweet gesture! Kerala’s elephants loved the GI-tagged Queen Pineapples! This is just the beginning. Let’s work together to process and export these wonderful fruits!”
He highlighted Tripura’s pivotal role in Bharat’s pineapple industry, noting, “Tripura, a State renowned for its pineapple cultivation, produces an impressive 8.5 per cent of Bharat’s total pineapple crop! This gesture of sharing the Queen Pineapples is a gesture of goodwill, strengthening our regional ties.”
CM Manik responded, “We are honoured for Tripura, Suresh Gopi. Guided by PM Narendra Modi’s vision, we are advancing towards Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. The GI-tagged Queen Pineapples are exceptional, and I am confident they will find admirers worldwide.”
