Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers at the party headquarters in Delhi on Thursday. He commended their contributions to the party’s recent electoral success. The meeting highlighted the party’s remarkable journey from securing only 2 seats to becoming the largest party in the Lok Sabha, winning 303 seats, and maintaining power at the Centre for a third consecutive term.
pic.twitter.com/tQmoc51G29

The closed-door event was attended by Union Minister and BJP president JP Nadda, along with national general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh. BJP IT head Amit Malviya noted that PM Modi’s interaction was a tribute to long-serving party members.
“PM Modi visited the BJP HQ to acknowledge our dedicated staff, some of whom have been with the party for decades. It was a poignant moment for them to be recognized for their hard work,” Malviya shared on X.
This recognition comes amidst internal strife within the BJP, especially in Uttar Pradesh, where the party’s performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections has raised concerns. The BJP’s seat count in Uttar Pradesh dropped from 62 to 33, affecting crucial areas like Faizabad (Ayodhya), eastern UP, and Amethi.
Despite winning 240 seats in the Lok Sabha, the BJP fell short of a majority and relied on its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners to form the government. The internal discord, marked by public blame among party leaders, contrasts with the BJP’s traditionally disciplined image.
PM Modi’s engagement with party workers is a recurring theme, as he previously held similar meetings in 2014 and 2019 following significant electoral victories. Known for his grassroots approach, Modi uses these interactions to bolster morale, share experiences, and provide guidance.
Ahead of the elections, PM Modi had urged party workers in Uttar Pradesh to aim for record-breaking performances and warned against any form of arrogance that could alienate voters.
