Assam Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah proudly announced that the State’s Jal Jeevan Mission has achieved a significant milestone, delivering clean drinking water through taps to 80 per cent of rural households.
In his social media update on X, Mallabaruah expressed his pride in the accomplishment and extended his thanks to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for his crucial guidance and support.
“The Assam Jal Jeevan Mission has successfully brought clean drinking water through taps to 80per cent of families in our rural areas. This milestone fills us with immense pride and gratitude,” Mallabaruah stated. He also commended the dedicated workers of the Jal Jeevan Mission for their tireless efforts in realising this vision.
Despite this progress, there have been some concerns and reports regarding the implementation of the project. Allegations have surfaced about the failure of several water projects and the use of sub-standard materials for water pipe installation.
Some rural areas are still awaiting reliable water supply, and issues of corruption have been raised by residents. The government is addressing these concerns to ensure that the mission’s goals are met and that clean drinking water is available to all.
