The Sikkim Assembly budget session is scheduled to take place from August 5 to 9, as announced by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang on Friday.
During a meeting with SKM MLAs in Mintokgang, Tamang highlighted that electricity, water, and road infrastructure will be the State Government’s main priorities for the next five years. He also asserted on the importance of improvements in healthcare, education, tourism, and the implementation of welfare schemes, alongside efforts to boost revenue growth.
Tamang urged legislators to ensure effective inter-departmental coordination and to hold at least one public meeting every week in their constituency offices to stay connected with the public.
In addition, he announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Sikkim on the eve of its 50th year of Statehood and called on all legislators to begin preparations for the year-long celebrations.
