In response to recent infiltrations by highly trained Pakistani terrorists, the Indian Army has initiated a strategic redeployment in the Jammu region. Approximately 500 Para Special Forces commandos have been dispatched to the area to neutralize 50-55 terrorists reportedly entering to intensify terrorism in the region.
According to defence sources, intelligence agencies have ramped up their operations to dismantle the support networks aiding these terrorists, including identifying and targeting overground operatives.
To address the threat, the Army has reinforced its presence with a brigade-sized force of about 3,500-4,000 troops. This reinforcement aims to counteract Pakistan’s proxy aggression effectively. The Army is focusing on devising strategies to locate and eliminate the terrorists, who are reportedly armed with advanced weaponry and communication gear.
Existing counter-terrorist measures in the region include two Rashtriya Rifles forces, Romeo and Delta, alongside other regular infantry divisions. The comprehensive approach underscores the Army’s commitment to safeguarding the area and neutralising the threat posed by these infiltrators.
