In a significant boost for Bharat’s Oil & Gas sector, a new gas reservoir has been uncovered in the Dirok Field, situated in Assam’s Tinsukia district.
Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, announced the development on X, highlighting the sector’s ongoing efforts to discover and optimise resources in alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
The Dirok Field, part of the ON-94/1 block at Margarita and managed by HOEC in collaboration with OIL and IOCL, has successfully identified a new reservoir, Sand-9, through well Dirok-1.
This well has demonstrated a flow rate of 6 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. Ongoing production testing aims to verify and potentially increase the field’s proven reserves based on these encouraging findings.
