Manipur Police apprehended a member of the banned militant group PREPAK(Pro) in Okram Chuthek, Imphal East. The arrested individual, identified as 43-year-old Sapam Priyojit Singh, was reportedly engaged in extortion activities targeting government employees. A mobile phone was seized from his possession during the arrest.
In response to the incident, security forces have intensified operations, conducting search and area domination activities in vulnerable areas across the hill and valley districts.
To maintain essential supplies, the movement of 266 vehicles along NH-2 has been secured. Authorities have implemented strict security measures at key locations and provided convoy protection to ensure safe and unhindered travel.
Additionally, 99 checkpoints have been established across various districts in Manipur. During these operations, police detained 60 individuals for various violations.
