A Delhi court has prolonged the judicial custody of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption and money laundering linked to the controversial liquor policy.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja has extended Kejriwal’s custody in the Enforcement Directorate’s (ED) money laundering probe until July 31, while his detention in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) corruption case will continue until August 8.
The court has also extended the judicial custody of other accused, including Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha, in the money laundering case until July 31. The accused appeared before the court via video conference.
Although Kejriwal received interim bail from the Supreme Court in the ED case, he remains in Tihar Jail due to pending bail bond formalities. His continued detention in the CBI case is part of the ongoing judicial process.
