Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein unveiled an ambitious budget for the 2024-25 fiscal year, presenting a deficit of Rs 993.08 crore. The budget, which focuses on infrastructure, urban development, and enhancing human resources, is set at Rs 35,840.79 crore, reflecting a 20.85 per cent increase from the previous year.
“Our vision is to be people-centric and progressive, aiming to meet the aspirations of our youth, women, and farmers,” stated Mein, who also oversees the Finance, Planning, and Investment portfolios. “We aim to eliminate development gaps across the State by the end of our third term in office.”
Mein highlighted the State Government’s dedication to the transformative vision of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Arunachal,’ inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also noted that the share of central taxes for the 2024-25 budget is projected at Rs 21,431.59 crore, showing a 19.42 per cent increase from the previous year’s estimate.
