Union Home Minister Amit Shah has made a significant commitment to address the issues facing all ten Sixth Schedule Councils, including the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). This assurance came during a meeting with Chief Executive Members of these councils in New Delhi.
Bodoland Territorial Region Chief Pramod Boro expressed his approval of the meeting via X. He emphasised Shah’s dedication to resolving matters related to the Bodo Peace Accord, 2020, and other outstanding issues.

Shah announced the formation of a new committee, chaired by Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, to focus on development challenges impacting the councils and their communities.
“The HM has always had a special place in his heart for our Northeast,” Boro noted in his post. “On behalf of the people of BTR and all ten Sixth Schedule Councils, I extend my gratitude to Amit Shah for his continued guidance and leadership.”
