The Assam Olympic Association or AOA hosted a signature campaign to extend best wishes to prominent boxer Lovlina Borgohain, who is set to compete in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris.
Participants gathered to sign a large flex wall, offering their support to Borgohain, who clinched a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
The event was graced by Assam Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika, Arjuna Awardee table tennis player Monalisa Barooah Mehta, AOA General Secretary Lakhya Konwar, and Boxing Federation of India’s Secretary General Hemanta Kalita, among other dignitaries and sportspersons.
Minister Hazarika expressed pride in Borgohain’s achievements, noting the significance of her journey from a remote village in Golaghat to the global stage. “We are here to wish the best for Lovlina Borgohain as she prepares for the Summer Olympics in Paris. I am confident she will bring honor to our country,” he stated.
He highlighted the importance of unwavering support for athletes, regardless of the outcomes, and urged everyone to stand behind them in every possible way.
