In a fresh encounter, three Army personnel were injured and one Pakistani person was killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. The clash occurred near the Kumkadi post in the Trehgam sector of the north Kashmir district.
An official informed, “Some exchange of fire took place near the Kumkadi post in Trehgam sector of the north Kashmir district,” noting that three Army jawans were wounded. Further details are pending as the operation is still in progress.
This incident marks the fourth encounter in Kupwara over the past month. Earlier this week, a terrorist was neutralised, and a non-commissioned officer (NCO) sustained injuries during a similar exchange.
The Army, in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police, initiated a search operation based on specific intelligence, leading to this recent confrontation. Recent operations have also included thwarting infiltration attempts in Kupwara’s Keran sector, resulting in the elimination of multiple terrorists.
