The ‘E-SeHAT’ platform was inaugurated at the Polyclinic in Imphal, aimed at transforming healthcare accessibility for ex-servicemen and their families. This initiative is part of the Central Government’s ‘100 Days Agenda’.
The launch event was graced by Maj Gen Manoj Natarajan, SC, VSM, Managing Director of the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme or ECHS. The event was coordinated by Station HQs at Leimakhong Military Station, with the station commander, serving and retired officers, and soldiers in attendance.
‘E-SeHAT’ is set to revolutionise healthcare delivery within the ECHS, ensuring that veterans receive timely and quality medical attention from the comfort of their homes. This platform aligns with the Centre’s Digital India vision, promoting digital inclusivity and efficiency in public services.
In the next phase, the program plans to include pre-consultation checks of vitals and home delivery of medicines, addressing the critical need for last-mile connectivity as highlighted by the ex-servicemen community. By August 20, 2024, referrals to hospitals by medical officers are also scheduled for implementation.
