Vikrant Massey has been celebrated for his performance in the critically acclaimed film 12th Fail, and in a recent interview, he shared his lifelong aspiration of winning a National Award.
Massey expressed his profound feelings, stating, “It feels very surreal, honestly. I’d be lying if I said I never aspired for this. I have always dreamed of standing in the Rashtrapati Bhawan, honoured by the President of our country. That dream is yet to realise.”
He further mentioned, “I love the support and the online chatter. People are rooting for me, which is incredibly heartening. But honestly, it’s still a surreal feeling. What can I say now?”
12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, is based on the real-life stories of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma and IRS officer Shraddha Joshi, and features Massey as a young Manoj from Chambal aspiring to join the police force. Massey’s portrayal earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Actor (Critics), and the film achieved commercial success, grossing ₹69 crore in Bharat.
Currently, Massey is preparing for the release of Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba. The sequel, written by Kanika Dhillon and directed by Jayprad Desai, also stars Taapsee Pannu and Sunny Kaushal. It is set to release on Netflix on August 9.
