To strengthen security in Manipur’s vulnerable regions, extensive search operations and area domination exercises have been conducted by security forces across both hill and valley districts. These proactive steps aim to secure fringe areas and maintain peace amid escalating unrest concerns.
The increased security has facilitated the safe passage of essential vehicles along key highways. Specifically, 172 vehicles travelled on NH-37, and 287 vehicles on NH-2, adhering to the strict security measures in place. Security convoys are also being deployed on sensitive stretches of these highways to ensure ongoing safety.
Authorities have established 101 checkpoints, or Nakas, throughout Manipur, covering both hill and valley districts. These checkpoints are crucial for maintaining law and order. In response to regulatory violations, police have detained 127 individuals across various districts, reflecting a firm commitment to upholding security and stability in the region.
