Elon Musk has accepted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s challenge to a fight, announcing his intentions on national television and declaring he is “coming for Maduro.”
The Tesla CEO took to his social media platform X, stating, “I will carry you to Gitmo on a donkey.”
The clash between Musk and Maduro intensified after Musk accused the socialist leader of “major election fraud” in the recent Venezuelan presidential election, where both Maduro and his opponent claimed victory.
During a national TV address, Maduro accused Musk of orchestrating attacks against Venezuela and alleged that Musk was behind a purported “computer hacking” incident at the National Electoral Council (CNE). The CNE had declared Maduro the election winner without providing detailed figures, fueling allegations of election rigging.
In response to Musk’s criticism, Maduro challenged the tech mogul, saying, “Social media creates a virtual reality, and who controls the virtual reality? Our new archenemy is the famous Elon Musk. Do you want to fight? Let’s do it. Elon Musk, I’m ready. I’m not afraid of you. Let’s fight, wherever you want.”
Musk replied on X, saying, “Tell Maduro I’ll fight him anytime, anywhere.” He added, “In fact, tell him to bring his favorite donkey too.”
The exchange between Musk and Maduro has sparked a flurry of online reactions. Musk joked in a reply, “Maduro is a big guy himself and probably knows how to fight, so this would be a real fight. Zuck is a little fella, so that would be a short fight, lol.”
He also suggested, “If I win, he resigns as dictator of Venezuela. If he wins, I give him a free ride to Mars.”
Musk’s disapproval of Venezuela’s election results, which he labeled a “travesty,” led him to refer to Maduro as a “dictator.” In response, Maduro accused Musk of planning an invasion, saying, “Good thing you showed your face because we knew you were behind it all! With your money and your satellites.”
