With an aim to address and discuss issues affecting the state’s tourism industry, Meghalaya will host a two-day tourism summit on August 6 and 7.
The summit will begin with an inaugural session led by Meghalaya Tourism Minister Paul Lyngdoh, and events on August 7 will feature Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
The State Government has invited a wide range of industry participants, including tour and travel operators, hotel and resort owners, local tourist guides, Dorbar Shnongs, and residents from tourist areas, to contribute their perspectives.
This summit comes in response to recent actions by the Hynniewtrep National Youth Federation (HNYF), which on July 26 restricted Assam-registered vehicles from travelling to tourist destinations in Sohra and Dawki.
