Janhvi Kapoor’s latest release, Ulajh, made its debut in theatres on Friday. On its opening day, the spy thriller earned ₹1.37 crore, according to Sacnilk’s report. The film experienced a notable uptick in audience turnout during the evening and night shows, driven by positive word of mouth. This trend suggests that box office numbers may rise further over the weekend.
Ulajh features Janhvi Kapoor in the role of Suhana Bhatia, a young IFS officer stationed at the Indian High Commission in London. The cast also includes Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, and Meiyang Chang. Directed by Sudhanshu Saria and produced by Vineet Jain under Junglee Pictures, the film went head-to-head with Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha at the box office.
Prior to its release, Ulajh had a special screening in Mumbai on Thursday. Janhvi Kapoor made a striking appearance in a white outfit, accompanied by her sister Khushi, brother Arjun Kapoor, cousin Shanaya Kapoor, uncle Sanjay Kapoor, and aunt Maheep Kapoor. Filmmaker Karan Johar and veteran actress Rekha also graced the event.
Following the screening, Arjun Kapoor praised the film on Instagram, stating, “Ulajh is an engaging spy drama with standout performances by every character in the film.
