Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has unveiled plans to introduce the State’s first cable car system at Ibudhou Marjing Hill. This project marks a significant milestone in the region’s infrastructure development.
Additionally, Biren Singh announced the launch of a major tourist attraction near Loktak Lake, with an estimated cost of Rs 126 crore. Besides, the State is investing in the Rs 600 crore Lamphelpat Rejuvenation Project and allocating approximately Rs 36 crore for the beautification of Waithou’s water bodies.
During the inauguration of Babina Hospital in Imphal East, CM Biren highlighted Manipur’s leadership in providing advanced medical facilities in Northeast Bharat. He noted that construction of concrete roads in Greater Imphal is underway with a substantial funding of around Rs 3,500 crore.
The CM asserted the BJP-led Government’s commitment to enhancing health services through initiatives like CHMT and CM Health for All, which have significantly benefited the State’s underprivileged populations.
Addressing the plight of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Biren Singh mentioned that under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, 6,061 displaced individuals have received skills training, with 2,500 prepared for job placements.
The State will see around Rs 700 crore allocated to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through bank support. Singh commended the Babina Group for their humanitarian efforts and contribution to job creation.
IPR Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh acknowledged the critical role of private sector players in filling gaps during health crises, especially during the Covid pandemic, and praised their support for the government and people of Manipur. He accentuated the importance of the CMHT initiative, a flagship program of the CM, in aiding the needy.
