The Sikkim Science Centre has been officially added to the State’s tourist itinerary, according to an announcement by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). This move is set to elevate the centre’s profile and offer visitors a distinctive experience.
DST secretary Sandeep Tambe highlighted that integrating the Science Centre into the tourism plan will enrich visitors’ understanding of science and technology. “Adding the Sikkim Science Centre to the tourist itinerary will enhance public knowledge of science through its diverse interactive exhibits and programs, appealing to both young and adult audiences,” Tambe remarked.
The Sikkim Science Centre boasts a range of attractions, including a 3D theatre, a planetarium, and an innovation hub, all designed to provide an immersive and educational experience for science enthusiasts.
Tourists will now be encouraged to explore the centre and engage in its various activities, promoting science education and awareness.
Tambe also noted that this inclusion will positively impact the local community and students. “By showcasing the importance of science and technology, we aim to inspire local residents and provide children with valuable educational experiences,” he added.
