To strengthen regional security and operational effectiveness, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps teamed up with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Assam Rifles for an integrated training camp at Sigar Military Station. This training, held from July 18 to August 3, 2024, aimed to enhance coordination and operational capabilities among the forces.
The intensive program involved 13 units of the Indian Army, sixteen regiments of the ITBP, and five units of Assam Rifles. A significant focus of the exercise was mastering the direction and execution of artillery fire, a vital skill in modern military operations. Participants used advanced training simulators to gain extensive and realistic shooting experiences, improving their readiness for real-world scenarios.
An Army official from Sigar Military Station highlighted the importance of the training, noting that it covered various aspects of artillery firing and rapid response drills. This joint exercise highlights the commitment of the Indian Army, ITBP, and Assam Rifles to enhancing interoperability and strengthening their collective defence posture in the region.
