In Tripura, a significant initiative will replace outdated power transmission lines across the State to ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply for residents, declared Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
During his visit to the State Load Dispatch Centre at 79 Tilla in Agartala, CM Saha revealed plans to extend underground cable lines for power distribution, starting with Agartala in the initial phase. He received a comprehensive briefing on power supply and management in the State and conducted an on-site inspection of the facility.
“The State Load Dispatch Centre plays a crucial role in monitoring power generation, transmission, and distribution to maintain a steady power supply for consumers,” mentioned CM Saha. He highlighted that the Central Government has awarded ISO certification to the State Load Dispatch Centres for meeting cyber security standards, highlighting its importance.
Saha noted that Tripura is unique in the Northeastern region for supplying electricity to Bangladesh. “Our government is committed to ensuring an uninterrupted power supply for all consumers in the State. The replacement of old transmission lines is a key part of this effort. We are also promoting the use of solar energy as an alternative source,” he said.
Additionally, CM Saha condemned the recent attacks on electricity workers, emphasising that such incidents are unacceptable and must be addressed.
