Providing significant relief to the families, Chief Minister N Biren Singh confirmed that the Manipuri diaspora staying in Bangladesh are safe amid the current unrest.
In his statement, Biren Singh relayed information from Sudhir in Bangladesh, who assured that the Meiteis, Meitei-Pangals, and Bishnupriyas are unharmed.
“We are grateful to hear that they are safe and sound,” remarked CM Biren adding, “The government is committed to taking all necessary measures to assist and support the Manipuri community in Bangladesh.”
He further expressed his gratitude and concern on X, saying, “I pray for their continued safety and reaffirm that the government will do everything in its power to support the Manipuri diaspora in Bangladesh.”
