Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu engaged in a significant virtual meeting with leading officials from Google and YouTube, including YouTube CEO Neal Mohan. The discussion centered around the establishment of a YouTube Academy in Amaravati.
The Andhra Government mentioned the meeting aimed to explore strategic partnerships to boost the State’s technological progress. The high-profile participants included Sanjay Gupta, President of the Asia Pacific Region at Google; Leslie Miller, Vice President of YouTube; Sreenivasa Reddy, Google India’s Managing Director for Government Affairs and Public Policy; and Union Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu.
The talks focused on enhancing digital infrastructure, skill development, and using technology to improve governance. Naidu expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “Andhra Pradesh is on a path to becoming India’s digital hub, and we are excited about working with global leaders like Google and YouTube.”
A forthcoming agreement between the Andhra Pradesh Government and Google will launch the initiative “AI for Andhra Pradesh, Powered by Google.” This initiative will incorporate AI applications in various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, and sustainability, along with skill development, support for startups, and AI-driven governance.
Following the meeting, Naidu shared his excitement on X, stating, “Thrilled to connect with YouTube Global CEO Neal Mohan, and Google APAC Head Sanjay Gupta, today. We discussed the establishment of a YouTube Academy in Andhra Pradesh, partnering with local entities to advance AI, content creation, skill development, and certification programs.”
