Actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have officially announced their engagement, marking the occasion with the release of their first photos together. The couple made their relationship public through a set of engagement ceremony pictures shared by Chaitanya’s father, Nagarjuna.
On social media, Nagarjuna expressed his happiness, stating, “We are thrilled to share the news of our son, Naga Chaitanya’s engagement to Sobhita Dhulipala, held this morning at precisely 9:42! In the photos, Sobhita is seen dressed in a stunning peach silk saree, complemented by traditional gold jewelry and peach flowers adorning her hair. Naga Chaitanya, on the other hand, looks regal in an all-white ensemble.
The couple’s fans showered them with blessings and warm wishes. “Big big congratulations,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “Best wishes to Chay and the Akkineni family.” Another follower added, “Congratulations to the Akkineni Family.”
The engagement ceremony was held at Nagarjuna’s residence in Hyderabad. The event was attended by Nagarjuna’s wife, Amala Akkineni, Chaitanya’s brother Akhil, and Dhulipala’s parents, as confirmed by a source close to Chaitanya, who requested anonymity.
The Akkineni family resides in a luxurious house located in the prestigious Jubilee Hills area of Hyderabad, a well-known landmark among Telugu cinema fans.
In September of last year, rumors about Naga Chaitanya’s ‘second marriage’ began circulating online. At the time, sources close to the actor refuted these claims, clarifying that Chaitanya was still in a strong relationship with Sobhita.
“They are quietly dating and don’t plan to make their relationship public until they decide to marry or get engaged. They are not worried about being seen together, but everything will remain private until an official ceremony takes place,” an insider shared.
Naga Chaitanya was previously married to Samantha Ruth Prabhu, but the couple parted ways in 2021.
