In Maharashtra, an FIR has been filed against Dilip Khedkar, father of former trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar, following an alleged altercation at the Pune Collector’s office in June.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Smarthna Patil confirmed that the case, registered under IPC Sections 186, 504, and 506, was filed at the Bundgarden Police Station. The complaint accuses Dilip Khedkar of using threatening language against tehsildar Dipak Akade, demanding a cabin for his daughter during her tenure as an assistant collector, despite having no authority to interfere in administrative matters.
The Bundgarden police station registered the case based on a complaint from a tehsildar-level officer at the Pune district collectorate. Additionally, Dilip Khedkar, a retired government official, is also involved in a criminal intimidation case filed by Paud police in Pune.
This case, related to a land dispute, implicated his wife Manorama Khedkar, who was accused of brandishing a gun. While Dilip Khedkar secured anticipatory bail, Manorama, who was arrested by Pune rural police, was recently released on bail by the court.
Puja Khedkar’s legal troubles extend beyond her father’s case. The Delhi High Court has scheduled a hearing on August 12 for her plea challenging the denial of anticipatory bail by a district court. Puja Khedkar faces allegations of falsifying her identity to gain extra attempts in the civil services examination. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has cancelled her selection and barred her from future exams.
Khedkar is currently untraceable following the FIR registered against her in Delhi, where she is accused of misrepresenting information in her UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2022 application. Additionally, she faces charges of misusing her power and privileges to request unentitled perks and facilities during her training at the Pune district collectorate.
In 2022, Khedkar obtained a 7 percent locomotor disability certificate from Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial (YCM) Hospital, despite reports of no actual disability from the physiotherapy department. She is accused of using this certificate to exceed the permitted number of attempts for the civil services exam, violating regulations.
