In a significant move to boost educational standards and uphold regional commitments, the Assam Cabinet has approved the creation of 1,766 new positions for Graduate Teachers in Mathematics across provincialised and government schools in the State. This decision highlights the government’s dedication to improving education quality while also honouring past territorial agreements.
The Cabinet’s approval includes amendments to The Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised Schools) Service (Third Amendment) Rules, 2024, and The Assam Secondary Education (Government Schools) Service (Third Amendment) Rules, 2024. These amendments are aimed at refining the recruitment process and regulating the service conditions for Graduate Teachers in Mathematics.
By streamlining the availability of qualified math teachers, the Assam Government is taking decisive steps to address the shortage of educators in this critical subject, ensuring that students across the State have better access to quality education.
