Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma unveiled two major initiatives aimed at strengthening entrepreneurial efforts among women and youth in the State. The new programs are designed to encourage economic development and support aspiring entrepreneurs.
Financial Support for Women Entrepreneurs
Under the new scheme, the Assam Government will deposit Rs 10,000 into the accounts of women across the State, encouraging them to embark on small-scale business ventures. This direct grant is complemented by an additional Rs 25,000 in support for each beneficiary. Of this supplementary amount, Rs 15,000 will be provided as a bank loan, while the remaining Rs 10,000 will be a government grant, aimed at strengthening their entrepreneurial activities.
Support for Young Entrepreneurs
In a separate initiative, CM Himanta announced a substantial funding boost for the youth of Assam. A grant of Rs 2 lakh will be available to young entrepreneurs to aid in the establishment and growth of their business ventures. This funding is intended to provide significant support for young individuals looking to make their mark in the business world, contributing to the region’s economic progress.
These initiatives reflect the State Government’s commitment to empowering individuals and enhancing a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Assam.
