BJP MLA Kirori Lal Meena has resigned from his position as a minister in the Bhajanlal Sharma Government in Rajasthan, citing dissatisfaction with how party leaders have treated him. Meena, who submitted his resignation several days ago, announced his decision was influenced by the party’s lack of acknowledgment of his contributions.
Meena’s resignation comes in the wake of the BJP’s disappointing performance in certain constituencies during the recent Lok Sabha elections. Although Meena resigned from his cabinet role, his resignation has not yet been officially accepted.
“I resigned from the ministerial post in this Bhajanlal Government because the party leaders, whom I have served for 45 years, did not heed my concerns,” stated Meena.
At a tribal day event in Dausa, Meena reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding reservation policies. He addressed a large gathering from the community, asserting that he would prevent any alterations to reservation policies, which some had feared might be affected by the current government.
“Before the election, there were fears that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would end reservation policies. Now that PM Modi is in office, it is Dr Kirori Lal’s responsibility to ensure that no changes are made to these crucial policies,” Meena added.
