Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu inaugurated the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign from the Civil Secretariat in Itanagar today. As part of the launch, he distributed national flags to students from various schools and vibrant villages across the State. The event also featured the flagging off of a cyclothon with 78 participants.
During the ceremony, CM Khandu administered the Tiranga pledge and presented certificates to the cyclothon participants. The celebration included patriotic songs and was attended by several dignitaries. A large tricolour flag was unfurled by the CM, encouraging residents to display the national flag at their homes.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative, part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, runs from August 9 to 15, marking Independence Week. The programme includes a variety of patriotic activities such as Tiranga processions, rallies, runs, and marathons at both State and district levels. Local events will also honor freedom fighters and their families.
In a media statement, CM Khandu urged citizens to hoist the national flag from August 9 to 15, take selfies with it, and motivate others to join in, highlighting the importance of national pride.
He remarked, “Our Prime Minister’s appeal to hoist the national flags has been met with enthusiasm across Arunachal, from border towns to foothill areas. This year’s campaign, marked by distributing flags to every district, reinforces our patriotism and commitment to the nation. The cyclothon symbolises a commitment to a healthy lifestyle for all.”
