In celebration of Bharat’s Independence, the Mizoram Art and Culture department organised a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in State capital Aizawl on Monday, attracting 800 students who marched through the city carrying the Tricolour.
Students from various schools, including Govt Mamawii Higher Secondary School, Govt JL Higher Secondary School, and Govt Central Higher Secondary School, began their journey from southern Aizawl, while those from Govt Chaltlang Higher Secondary School and Govt Mizo Higher Secondary School marched from the northern side. Both groups converged at Vanapa Hall, the central meeting point of the city.
At Vanapa Hall, a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Pledge’ was taken, where Aizawl district Deputy Commissioner Er Lalhriatpuia emphasised the significance of the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in promoting unity and national integrity across Bharat’s diverse communities.
Continuing the celebrations, a ‘Tiranga Concert’ is scheduled to take place at Vanapa Hall on Tuesday.
